I Work Out!

It's safe to say that everyone likes to say they love working out, but that for most people is the biggest lie they've told. But for me, I love it! One reason I think I love it is because I don't just run on a treadmill and do sit ups on a gym floor. I like to shake things up. Make them exciting and never consistant. One thing I also do is I use a food and exercise tracking app called "Lose It".

The logo looks like this, and the app is such a life saver!

In this app, I track all of my food, which sometimes can be a little scary, and all of my exercise. It tells you how many calories your food has, you can type in your recipes and it will tell you the caloric content and how much a suggested serving is. This app literally has it all/ You can track your weight, become friends with other people and have competitions with them, you can set goals to track your progress. There is also more, but I don't want to bore my few readers! :)

Here's what an example of the app looks like, I've had it on an Android and an iPhone. It works great on either, and it looks and works the exact same way.

Another thing I do to keep myself motivated is I do watch NBC'S The Biggest Loser. If you don't watch it, START! It is THE most inspiring, motivating, and informing tv show I have ever watched! It is definitely worth one hour a week!

And on the show, there is a trainer named Jillian Michaels. Maybe you've heard of her. If not, you must live under a rock. ;)

Anyways! She is the toughest trainer I have ever seen on the show. But she knows how it is to want to lose weight. You may not believe this when you see her picture, but when she was young, she was an overweight child and found boxing and lost the weight. And now she looks great!

So I went out and bought her "30 Day Shred". It's great! And by great, I mean it completely kicks my butt. It's the best at home workout anyone can do. Its short and sweet, yet feels like a long time while you're doing it! I would highly recommend it to anyone who would want to work out at home.

And when "30 Day Shred" was getting old, I bought her "Yoga Inferno". And let me tell you one thing. If you think yoga is easy... You obviously have never tried it. Yoga is not an easy thing to do. Especially if Jillian Michaels is your instructor.

I just finished it before I started writing this, and I'm still feeling it. It's a workout that leaves you feeling great and happy. And yoga always makes me feel good about myself and allows me time to think even though its a hard workout. So I definitely recommend you get this one as well!

Songs Everyone Should Listen To (My Playlist)

I've been asked what some of my all-time favorite songs are, so I thought I would share them with you guys as well!

Here is a link to a Youtube version and a picture of the band/artist.

Check back often because I will update it and add to the list.

My Views on Music

I am a huge music lover. If you meet me, within an hour you will be completely aware of it. People have always come to me to find new music, music that hasn't been discovered by the local radios.

Check out my other post, My post, Songs Everyone Should Listen To (My Playlist) , to see songs I actually listen to.

One thing I always tell people is that just because music is old, doesn't mean it's not good anymore. Music doesn't expire. One of my all-time band, if not my most favorite band, is The Beatles. There isn't new music being released, yet it isn't being overplayed. I never get annoyed with the music because I control how much the music is played around me. The music is still good, and sometimes when the current music is horrible and overplayed, old music is a breath of fresh air.

Music is my best friend. I am a complete music addict. And it's a great addiction because it doesn't hurt me or anyone else, and you physically cannot overdose on it. Music is always reliable.

It's not a lie that I simply love music. I play it on my phone, my iPod, my computer, my car radio, my iHome, My piano, my violin, my guitar, my ukulele, my flute. I constantly have music playing. Or I sing.

I couldn't post about music without doing a John Lennon reference, so here it is. "Music is everybody's possession. It's only the publishers who think that people own it."

Music really is my escape. It's where I leave my problems and I can take a break and relax. It's where I become someone else. Music is almost my alter ego in a way.. I've never thought of it like that, until now. But it really is. So my question to you few people who actually read this, and thank you for that, but what are some of your favorite songs, bands, musicians? Ones that aren't constantly played on the radio.

Thanks for reading! I really would appreciate some feedback! :)

10 Tips for College Packing.

I'm getting ready to pack up my clothes for college, and I wanted to know the best things to take. So I did a little research and I thought I would share what I found since I figured if I wondered, maybe, just maybe someone else was thinking the same thing as I was.

So here's what I found.

1. Take comfortable workout clothes. They can also be your lazy day clothes.

2. Make sure to have something warm. You can always take off layers, so make sure you can be warm.

3. Don't be afraid to trade out clothes for others. Variety is good and there is no need to wear 5 different shirts all semester.

4. Make sure everything matches and coordinates with everything else. It will save you time on days youre running late and it also saves space.

5. Scarves are your best friend. They don't tangle like necklaces and they add extra personality to your outfits.Plus in winter they help to keep you warm!

6.  It's fine to wait and buy clothes and such after you have moved. You don't need everything right away.

7.  Take fancy outfits. T And wear them! They will make you feel empowered and it will boost your mental health in the middle of the most stressful times away from home.

8. Big bags will be your best friend. You can throw anything and if it's big enough , everything, inside this bag!

9. It is college, you'll be doing a lot of walking. Get cute shoes made by brands such as JellyPpop, and have cute feet friendly shoes!

10. Find a jacket that is cute and keeps you warm. It's the smartest and cheapest way to dress in colder climates.

BONUS!

11. Take a scarf hanger. It will save your floor space

and keep yourself organized! You can store belts and scarves. It's great!

10 Things I Love.

Why would I write 10 things that I love? Why not. My blog is new and it's a way for my readers to get to know me.

I figure if I let you guys get to know me, you guys might let me get to know you! :)

1. I am absolutely LOVE music. It's the one thing I could never live without. I play 5 instruments and teach violin lessons. I cannot stand to sit in a quiet room. I constantly have music playing, whether it's a recorded song or I'm the one making the music.

Music is how I express myself and I don't always like sharing my music. Because its MY music. Anyone else the same way?

2. If I could only see one color for the rest of my life, it would be purple. Everything in my future house will be purple. My bedroom is straight purple. My family never has a hard time when it comes to presents as long as they get me something purple.

3. I am obsessed with Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family. I've watched it from the beginning and have my own theories. If you watch it, let's talk! I love hearing other peoples theories.

I think I've watched it for almost 5 years? I think it's been on for 5 seasons, and I've watched it since the very first episode aired.

You should totally watch it!

4. I am a total daddy's girl, and I have him wrapped around my finger.

5. I love to cook. I'm the main person who cooks at my house, so I've developed a skill for cooking. It was either learn to cook or eat nasty food.. You see why I can cook.

I love cooking breakfast foods, even thought I usually end up making it for dinner. Anyone else love breakfast for dinner? It's probably the best thing ever!

6. I love, love, love a garlic dip my mom makes. It's literally my weakness and could quite possibly be the death of me. It's delicious and simple, and SO horrible for you. But yolo right? :)

7. Musicals are something that always makes me happy, especially if there is romance. Grease, Hairspray, Mama Mia, High School Musical, South Pacific, The Sound of Music, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Les Miserables, Wicked, I could go on for hours.

I think I've seen every single one of these. And not only one time.. But I'm okay with it!

8. I waited to pierced my ears on my 18th birthday. I'm a huge baby and hate needles, so turning 18 wasn't a hard thing to wait for and it put off having to get it done.

9. I'm the youngest of my family, and the youngest grand-kid on both sides of my family.

10. I graduated from high school at 17. Don't think I'm some genius.. My birthday was just weeks after graduation, but I sounded smart, right?
